Economist Milton Friedman was testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee in favor of a national constitutional amendment for a balanced budget. Kennedy argued that a requirement for a balanced budget would restrict the federal government's power and its ability to spend – thus, he said, Washington's role in more fairly and equitably distributing wealth, goods and services.

"Senator, socialism hasn't worked in 6,000 years of recorded history

," explained Friedman. "Why won't you give up on it?"

Kennedy rose to his feet, according to Nuttle, who attended the hearing, and replied: "It hasn't worked in 6,000 years of recorded history because it didn't have me to run it."

How many men are so hubristic with so little cause?

"Teddy" was a vile, cheating, murderous pusbag. I literally clapped at my brother's computer yesterday reading the headline that he finally kicked it. I am more happy realizing that there is no heir apparent to "Camelot" (makes me vomit just to type that completely pretentious bullshit) and we're almost certainly done with the Kennedys now.

And thankfully so. JFK did a few things right but the Kennedy legacy post-Dallas is just sad.

(BTW: Thanks be to God that both Clinton and Obama have no sons. Plenty of idiot liberals around but now none with a Legacy Pedigree! And I really doubt enough men will ever vote for a liberal harridan. They're all angry bitches and really do a bad job at hiding it.)
