I Saw This Happen...

... sort of. I walked over to CVS and Panera from work instead of riding the cycle because I thought it would be quicker than walking to the parking lot and then riding over and then back.

Turns out I'm wrong and it would have been quicker to ride.

But if I had, I wouldn't have got to see it happen.

I was walking on 56th Street and heard a loud rumble. I think I felt the ground shake. I thought it was thunder. Then I saw the HUGE pillar of smoke from north by northwest. I figured it had to be at least 2 miles out.

I got up to my office and checked the news and sure enough: Explosion! At I465 & I69. Propane tanker. Over 3 miles as the crow flies and the ground shook that far out. Not as bad as the aftershocks from the earthquake a few years back, but still!
