My comment to a friend regarding this was "God could use some people skills." I was being light-hearted about something that seems awfully harsh for a relatively minor offense.

My friend warned me not to blaspheme. I told her "It's my honest reaction to reading that."

Blasphemy? I'd like some thoughts from the peanut gallery. I'd also like to hear about anyone's perceptions and/or additional information of this verse.

Interesting site. I especially like the parallel translations. Learning my limited amount of German, I know there's plenty of stuff that just does not translate. Add in 2000+ years and you have an easy way to create misunderstandings.

I might just have to go buy a copy like that.

I find this stuff fascinating. And while I've only recently started talking to Jesus, I have always found amusement in the discoveries of the Bible's veracities while atheists grind their teeth in rage that ANOTHER fact is proven true from the Old or New Testament.

I honestly wonder how much of the discoveries pertaining to Biblical truth have been conveniently "lost" after discovery and prior to it becoming public knowledge. I would bet a significant percentage of them myself.
