I've never bothered to learn anything about HTML until about five minutes ago. And Blogger's directions suck. But I think this is much nicer on the eyes. I've always hated all that wasted space.

Although I might revert back to the classic layout with the adjusted margins.

BTW: feel free to offer layout suggestions if you're so moved.

I clicked on a link over at www.lewrockwell.com on Friday. The result was an "Access Denied" message from my IE browser, stating the site is one that contains "Hate Speech". Intrigued,
I sent the link to my home email account. I just pulled it up.

Shane and I talked about this some time ago. I said it's nuts because most would just d/l it and pay nothing. And I was right. Most people are cheap bastards.

The really funny thing is that they said they've made more money off of this album's paid downloads than they made from any of their previous ones.

Terry Bozzio (drummer) said something along the same lines. He said he can make more money selling 100 CDs direct from his own web site than he can signing with any label. Because Terry Bozzio's fans are going to find and buy his stuff, no matter the source.

Interesting times ahead for the music world.

...just popped up on this here blog. One I've not had to deal with before.

Anonymous poster, maybe cookies not working on someone's PC, maybe someone being an ass.

I'd like to be able to tell the difference in the future.

So if you use Site Meter or some other similar service, let me know and tell me what you like about it. I really don't care about measuring traffic, just being able to see the IPs of posters since I know a few folks just do what I do on the road, post anon comments with the usual name in the text instead of where it should be. And that's fine with me, I just want to be able to verify in the future and keep possible jerks honest.

What are the laws or rules for citing web articles?

I'm wondering this: I always link to my sources when I cite something. (If I don't let me know!)

But I know most news sources don't have free public archived stories for very long. So if I link to something, that link is likely to be dead inside of a month.

But I don't want anyone scanning my blog and not knowing about what I was talking. So how much can I copy and paste on my blog before I run afoul of any laws? I don't really think anyone will sue me or anything, I'm just curious.

If I copy an entire news article verbatim, cite the source and provide a link am I breaking the law?

Your surfing pleasure that is. Bug Me Not is just about the coolest subversive thing out there. When I first started surfing, I would register for news sites all the time. It was a pain in the ass. Then I saw on Vox's blog how he would register as Han Solo or something like that. I took up doing that, but it was still stupid and a waste of time. (Even though I occassional still take surveys as a 99 year old Cambodian woman making in excess of $250K per annum.)

Enter BUG ME NOT! Really, you should. It's a way to stick it to the man, making them realize information ain't free. Give it a try.
